Animal ID: 18-01-07-00439Charlie (male)

Bengal    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Charlie was found in the woods near our home sometime last summer (2017), was very thin & pretty wild when I first saw him. It took weeks to establish trust--and get him close enough to a carrier, to be caught & taken for neutering/evaluation. He has put on weight (maybe a bit too much, my fault!) and he has settled down well after neutering, with very nice house manners (never misses when using his litter box, doesn't jump on the counters or bookshelves, etc.). He's a TERRIFIC cat, Mr. Personality, VERY intelligent and also quite affectionate--once you've gained his trust. We would absolutely LOVE to keep him, as he is one special, ... (Read More)charming creature, but...We already had four other feline rescues in our home prior to rescuing Charlie--all of whom have their own issues & insecurities--and the dynamics just aren't working out. Charlie still doesn't get along with the other cats and they're all stressed! Trying to keep Charlie in 'isolation' in a separate room simply isn't working well for him or us--he's a 'people' cat, loves being in the middle of everything, and he's understandably upset at being locked up when inside, crying at the door to be with us when he hears our voices. We do let him go outdoors for a few hours on weekends and after arriving home from work; he seems to need to run around outside to let off some steam & 'get the wigglies out.' Charlie often follows me around the house (when my other 4 cats are kept securely in another room for a time!) and everywhere outside, loves to ride in cars. He's exceptionally intelligent, curious, and a bit spicy at times, in keeping with his Bengal heritage--and a GREAT companion, both indoors and outside, for a person or family that doesn't have other cats.
